I’ve long been searching for a to-do app that works the way I work, and I’ve tried my fair share along the way. If you’re looking for a task manager and you use a Mac, I cannot emphasis enough my endorsement for this incredible little app.

I’ve had this opinion for a while, long before the incredibly stable and robust point the app is at right now (version 0.9.3). Back before you could drag-and-drop tasks into the sidebar; long before you could “cancel” a task instead of simply delete (do you realise how awesome of a feature this is?!). Pretty much from the moment I opened it up, I knew we had a winner, folks.

So why rave about it now? One word: iPhone. Today I upgraded my iPhone to version 2.0 software, which gave me access to the iPhone apps (WOW). And as I browsed the list of available apps, to my utter shock and amazement, I found Things. Yes, that’s right, the best task management software available has been ported to the iPhone.

I purchased it right away. I even used my UK credit card because my new US one hadn’t been activated, paying £6 instead of $9. I didn’t even check to see if it would synch with my local copy of Things (it doesn’t - yet). Still, none of it mattered. I know first hand that the people at Cultured Code get usability, get simplicity, and get how I work.

And indeed, the Things App is just… awesome. When it synchs with my desktop, I will most likely get up from my chair, in the middle of the office, no matter what the mood, and dance. And I can’t wait.

Tumbling by IMing through my iPhone is just the coolest thing since banana sandwiches!

Tumbling by IMing through my iPhone is just the coolest thing since banana sandwiches!

iPhone 2.0 Firmware (5A347) Available Early

iPhone 2.0 Firmware (5A347) Available Early: Once again, digging through Apple’s XML files has revealed the url to the iPhone 2.0 Firmware that is presently available on Apple’s servers.
